5 Tips to Elevate Your Social Presence

Posted by FMN Creative in Social Insights

At FMN Creative, a new year means a new strategy.

We have made it our 2022 mission to not just speak social, but TEACH social. We believe that social media knowledge should be universal and that anyone can speak social.

Our creative crew has crafted a list of five social strategy tips to help you transform your business into a brand. A business provides value to customers through its products or services. A brand is what communicates that value to your audience. Are you ready to elevate your social presence?
Welcome to the FMN Creative Social Strategy Academy!

Here’s what to look for when outlining your social media content calendar:

When is your audience online? Beyond reach, when are they engaging, liking, commenting, and sharing your posts?

Why are users following you? Be sure to differentiate your posts from platform to platform, and give your audience a reason to follow you on multiple platforms.

Where are you performing best on social? If your numbers are low on Snapchat and TikTok, but sky-high on Instagram and Facebook, try investing in your highest-performing accounts.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. What value does my business provide online?
  2. What type of content does my audience look for on their feed?
  3. How can my posts display my value proposition and my brand personality?

Use your answers to form a list of about 20 post ideas. Set a timer for ten minutes and GO!

Place your ideas into groups based on topic, theme, or purpose.

Upgrade your call to action (CTA) by keeping them short and sweet, easy to understand, limited to only one action, and PUNCHY!

Branded Tags are specific to your business. Examples: #YourBrand #MyBusiness

Industry Tags use keywords that are specific to your industry. Examples: #Marketing #MarketingAgency #SmallBusiness #SmallBiz

Niche Tags add more specificity to the industry that you’re in. Utilize these types of tags to increase post engagement from users who are specifying these search terms. Examples: #SocialMedia #SocialMediaAgency #DigitalMarketing

Community Tags Community hashtags are more specific than industry and niche hashtags. Consider using 3-5 community hashtags in addition to others in your Instagram posts to boost engagement and gain followers. Examples: #WomenInBusiness #LaptopLifestyle

Location Tags boost your local engagement and can even target a specified place on the map. Be sure to tag your location in your post and utilize the hashtags for it as well. Examples: #Uitca #NewYork #NY #MadeInUtica #CNY

Instagram is a perfect platform for influencers and is still quite beneficial to more traditional businesses. To capitalize on the current algorithm, we recommend you aim to post (3) Feed posts per week (can be photo/video/carousel, (3) Reels, and (5-10) Stories per day.

Facebook is a great way to target the vast majority of almost every demographic. Creating a Facebook page opens you to Facebook ads, groups, events that you can use to build attention around tentpole events, and a great internal analytics system that will help you keep track of what’s working well.

LinkedIn is great for B2B audiences. This platform should be used more frequently to target the C-Suite executives and business decision-makers who would benefit from the presentation coaching you offer.

TikTok is a growth machine. While you may not be seeing most of your target demographics on here right now, this platform has been expanding furiously over the past few years. Now is the time to beat your audience to it!
